This spacious, modern quiet Parador is surrounded by lush green gardens, a refreshing swimming pool and is close to the provincial towns of Andalusia.
It is ideal for holding social gatherings as it is surrounded by a fertile plain and "El Torcal", an area with interesting geological formations. Antequera has a rich historical and artistic heritage. It was used by King Fernando, the Catholic, as his base of operations during the Granada campaigns. For those who want to experience total relaxation this is the perfect retreat. The rooms are spacious and decorated in light shades of colour which compliment the rich wood of the ceilings, walls and floors. The leather furniture is classical and functional in style and the impression is one of relaxed elegance. This three star Parador comprises fifty five twin bedrooms. All are air conditioned and feature telephone, cable and satellite television and a safe. Facilities at the Parador include heating, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, conference room and facilities for disabled persons. The restaurants of the Parador group hotels offer a variety of dishes including a selection of local and regional specialities. They also offer a diabetic, vegetarian and gluten free option. For those who enjoy sight seeing you may care to visit the Arab Castle, the Arco de los Gigantes (Arch of Giants) and the Church of Santa Maria Mayor. The village of Archidona, approximately 18 kilometres away, is also worth visiting. There are a number of fiestas held in Antequera including, the Farming Fair held in May, the August Fair and the Feast of the Virgin de los Remedios, held in September.
