This Parador occupies a modern building backing on to the ancient Royal Walls in the Plaza de Nuestra Senora de Africa, the nerve centre of Ceuta. Its position offers a magnificent panoramic view of the sea, the historical centre of the city and even of the coast of the Iberian peninsula.

An impregnable fortress for centuries, the vaults of the former Artillery Stores were constructed on the city walls, and are now redecorated as the Suites.

Within the interior of the Parador are conserved representative elements of numerous civilizations, with Arabic influence predominating. The furniture offers a classical and at the same time modern touch.

The dining room decorated with abundant plant. The chef specializes in the traditional cuisine of this enclave which combines the dishes of Andalusia and Arabic dishes. This results in dishes using the many varieties of fish caught locally, meat in various sauces and also the spicy arab dishes.

When in Ceuta make sure to visit the Grand Bazaar, which has a huge number of shops available. Also visit the cathedral, the Shrine of Nuestra Senora de Africa, the Trench of San Felipe, and the Royal Walls.

The former stronghold atop Mount Hacho has been converted into the headquarters of Anti-aircraft Artillery.

Enjoy the feasts and celebrations that are offered all year round: The carnivals in February, Easter in March/April, the ”Cruces” in May, and the Corpus Christi which is the only day when the very old Royal Standard, embroidered by a Portuguese queen is shown.

There is also the Sailors Pilgrimage of Virgen del Carmen on June 16th, and the Main Feasts on August 5th, which includes the procession of the Virgin of Africa, a carving donated to the city by the king of Portugal Henry in 1420.

The Parador luxurious tropical garden and the excellent climate invite one to sunbathe and swim in the pool. The highlight of most evenings is the exotic sunset over the African continent.
