This Parador is located on a privileged site only 12 kms. from the marvellous Sanabria lake which is the largest in Spain of glacial origin.
Located in the middle of the region of Sanabria, bordering with Portugal, this Parador is ideal for travellers and lovers of nature to admire the beautiful surrounding landscapes. The decoration of the inner rooms offers the quality and warmth necessary to guarantee a pleasant stay. The living room boasts a placid chimney, and some of the bedrooms have large windows allowing you to contemplate the historical and monumental town of Puebla de Sanabria. In the restaurant sample some of the exquisite products of this region including "habones" (large beans), trout, and blackberry tart. In Puebla de Sanabria you must visit the castle of the Condes de Benavente. In the valley of Tera discover the romantic churches and finally make a journey to near-by Portugal to visit Braganca. You may enjoy the medieval market organized in the village near the Parador in the middle of August, or the Easter celebrations in the city of Zamora. Experience the Feasts of the Victorias celebrated on the days 7, 8 and 9 of September in Puebla de Sanabria, which include fireworks and street parades. The proposed activities in this area are: hiking around Lake Sanabria and the Culebra "sierra" (mountains), routes on horseback or 4x4, climbing, biking, parapente, canoeing, fishing, and hunting. The accommodation in this hotel of the Paradors group is in twenty seven twin bedded rooms, twelve double bedded rooms, and five single bedrooms. In the rooms you will find a telephone, television, TV canal plus, and a mini bar. Also for the comfort of your stay there is heating, a restaurant and bar, and conference facilities if required. The swimming pool is currently closed. Pets are not allowed in the luxury hotels in the Spanish Paradores group. |
